"When taking this picture of Shannon, I purposely framed it so the headdress she was made to wear was not visible - it does not belong on her - she is not a clown. I do not believe animals belong in circuses, traveling fairs, or marine parks.  Our fellow planet dwellers are intelligent, caring beings, who have their own families, and their own feelings and emotions.
They love just like we do, they cry just like we do, they experience joy like we do, and they also feel pain and sorrow.  They deserve to be treated with kindness, respect, and compassion."
